Indications
- Antianginal, Hypertension
- Not used for arrhythmia management
- Raynaud phenomenon
Interactions
- Hypotension with BP lowering meds
Side effects
- Constipation, malaise, bradycardia, heart block
- Headaches and facial flushing, ankle oedema
Dose
- HTN: Nifedipine 30-60 mg (extended release) OD PO (max 120 mg/d). Long-acting Nifedipine 40-80 mg OD
- Oesophageal spasm: Nifedipine 10 mg PO TDS.
- Raynauds: Nifedipine 5-20 mg PO TDS.
- Angina: Nifedipine 5-20 mg PO TDS.
