Do not give in those who are or might be pregnant. Manufacturer advises reduce dose by half with concurrent use of moderate inhibitors of CYP3A4. Reduce dose by 75% (to one quarter of usual dose) with concurrent use of potent inhibitors of CYP3A4 or P-glycoprotein inhibitors; avoid concurrent use in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.
|Acute Gout||1 mg stat PO then 0.5 mg BD to QDS (max dose of 6 mg taken or diarrhoea). Do not repeat within 3 days||6-12 hourly||PO|
|Chronic Gout||0.5 mg BD may be given with Allopurinol with normal renal and hepatic function for 7 days but may cause diarrhoea.||stat||PO|
|Acute and recurrent Pericarditis||1 g/day if > 70kg and 0.5 g/day if under 70 Kg. Given for 3 months under expert review .||OD||PO|
|Familial Mediterranean Fever||0.5-2 mg OD under expert guidance||OD||PO|
