Toxic shock syndrome is not restricted to tampon containing menstruating females but can occur in a simple seemingly unimportant wound infection in a young healthy male or female. Staphylococcal Osteomyelitis | A bone infection that can occur after bacteremia or from direct inoculation of bacteria into the bone (e.g., following trauma or surgery). |
|
Staphylococcal Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) | A rare, life-threatening condition caused by staphylococcal exotoxins. It is often associated with tampon use, surgical wounds, or skin infections. |
|
